Methodist Healthcare RN Residency Programs (formerly called GN/RN Internships) provide new Graduate Nurses (GN) or inexperienced Registered Nurses with 12-20 weeks of intensive training in a specialty clinical setting. Our RN Residency Programs are offered in six specialties:

Methodist Healthcare System typically offers Residency Programs (formerly called Internships) each quarter of the year. Information regarding specific dates can be found at http://www.joinmethodist.com/index.php/nurse-residency-program Q. When do I find a list of available positions and how do I apply? A. All applications must be submitted through our online system for consideration. We are unable to accept resumes via email, fax or mail. Available Residency positions will be posted on our website: www.JoinMEthodist.com. Once you are on the search page, enter “GN/RN Residency” in the keyword search. No other selections need to be made. Simply click “Search for Jobs”. A list of available Residency positions will populate. Please apply to any of the areas that interest you. Q. Will I be paid as a Resident and will I be eligible for benefits? A. Yes, as a RN Resident you will earn an hourly rate beginning the first day of the Residency program. For those who are not already receiving benefits, benefit eligibility begins the first day after successfully completing the RN Residency Program. Q. When will you begin hiring for these positions? Is there an application deadline?

When you apply for a position or submit a general profile via our online system, you will receive a confirmation email to let you know that your information was successfully received. In addition, you can log in anytime to view the list of jobs to which you have successfully applied. Q. I have already applied online—when will I be contacted? A. Due to the high volume of applicants, we are unable to respond to every candidate. Only those candidates who match the preferred job qualifications will be contacted for phone or in-person interviews. We will begin contacting individuals after the application deadline to start the interview process. Meet & Greet events will be held for applicants to have the opportunity to meet Directors and have on the spot interviews. At Methodist Healthcare, we are committed to selecting the best talent. To that end, we have a rigorous interviewing process. Expect to be interviewed by the hiring manager as well as peers. Q. Do I need my GN Permit or RN License prior to applying for a Residency? A. You do not need to have your GN permit or RN License to apply. However, in order to participate in the residency, we must be able to verify your RN License on the Texas Board of Nursing Website.
