Methodist Healthcare has evolved to meet the growing needs of the greater San Antonio community, but our commitment since opening our first hospital in 1963 remains true: to continuously improve the health and wellness of our community by "Serving Humanity to Honor God."
For more than 50 years Methodist Healthcare has provided high quality care to patients from San Antonio, its 26 surrounding counties and around the world. We’re recognized as the most respected and preferred health care provider in South Texas due to our outstanding team of nurses, medical professionals and physicians.
Our network of greater San Antonio hospitals includes nine acute care facilities: Methodist Hospital, Methodist Hospital South, Methodist Children’s Hospital, Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital, Northeast Methodist Hospital, Metropolitan Methodist Hospital, Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Hospital, Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and Methodist Texsan.
As San Antonio’s second largest private employer, our facilities employ more than 10,000 individuals, including 2,700 physicians in all specialties. In 2014, Methodist Healthcare provided services to 96,000 inpatients and 413,000 outpatients.
