Job Summary and Qualifications
Seeking a VP of Nursing who shares administrative authority and responsibility for the practice of nursing and supports the mission, vision and values of MHS. This position is responsible for aligning multiple clinical departments within hospital in a common mission while fostering interdepartmental collaboration in the development of high quality, cost effective and integrated programs across the full continuum of care. Areas of responsibility include: productivity, regulatory compliance, assistance with performance improvement and service excellence initiatives and managerial staff development. What You Will Do In Your Role:
- Responsible to ensure nursing staff participate in the design and provision of patient care; analyzes nursing services to improve the quality of patient care and attain maximum utilization of staff time and resources.
- Defines and supports MHS mission, vision, values and strategic plan by demonstrating concern for quality, patient safety, productivity and responsiveness by self and those managed.
- Plans, implements, revises and delegates nursing care with patient safety as primary goal.
- Provides care/treatment/services within theoretical framework of modeling and remodeling.
- Plays active role in advocating and driving quality and patient safety initiatives.
- Uses aggregate data to effectively analyze opportunities to reduce errors, identify problem prone processes and make decisions for improving clinical outcomes.
What qualifications you will need:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Five years of progressive healthcare/hospital management experience required.
- Vice President level experience preferred
- Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required: Must have current RN license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas. Must have Texas RN license within 90 days of hire.
