Description

SHIFT: No Weekends
SCHEDULE: Full-time


SUMMARY: Ensures that the daily activities of materials management and supply distribution are accomplished by efficient and productive means.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.
Prepare purchase orders for manager’s approval, solicit bids and proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.
Monitor inventories of products or materials.
Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
Confer with staff, users and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
Review catalogs and internet sites and consult with other department personnel to locate necessary goods and services.
Study usage records and inventory levels of current stock to develop strategic purchasing programs that facilitate employee access to supplies.
Crosstrain to be able to complete duties of Materials Management Clerk-Courier in their absence
Crosstrain to be able to complete selected duties of Materials Management Supervisor in their absence
Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks.
Distributes signed checks as required.
Prepares garnishment checks per reports from payroll.
Acts as liaison between corporate and branch accounts payable departments.
Answers all vendor inquiries.
Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files.
Assists corporate financial officers and branch personnel as necessary.
Prepares cleared checks for storage.
Assembles and processes overnight shipments to branches.
Assists in monthly closings.
Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
Performs filing and coping.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Individual should have knowledge of accounting software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
Ability to multitask.
Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift over 50 pounds.
• Must be able to sit and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to bend, squat, push, stoop, and pull as needed.
