Unit Summary:
20 bed unit
Patient to Nurse Ratio is 2:1
Cares for a variety of complex patients to include: Kidney & Liver Transplants, Sepsis, DKA, Stroke/Seizure, Liver & Renal Disease, Respiratory Failure, etc
Unit offers individualized orientation with dedicated preceptors and specialized classes

What You Will Do In Your Role:
You will consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients

Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant has been nationally recognized for its record setting kidney, liver and pancreas transplant programs. It is home to the Texas Transplant Institute and is the largest living donor kidney transplant program in the US. According to the United Network of Organ Sharing database, the center reached a major milestone in 2019 by performing 231 living donor kidney transplants in a single year setting a new national record - that’s 65 more transplants than the second center on the list.

What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program required.
Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse required
Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License required (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification required
At least 2+ years of nursing experience in critical care preferred
