Job Summary and Qualifications

  GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Performs all Nuclear Medicine procedures according to established policies and procedures, methods and standards to provide quality patient care. SUPERVISOR: Practice Manager 

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:  Document patient information and perform other non-clinical duties to support procedure completion.  Greet and identify correct patient and provide a brief explanation of requested procedure to ensure patient care and patients’ right to know.  Perform all aspects of radiopharmaceutical preparation for scintigraphy, bioassay, and therapeutic procedures and disposes of radioactive trash according to department policy and Nuclear Regulatory Commission standards.  Perform imaging and therapeutic procedures according to requirements.  Perform non-clinical activities pertinent to equipment maintenance and NRC regulations for Quality Control and radiation monitoring.  Maintain appropriate supplies and a clean, organized work environment.  Participate in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of Nuclear Medicine.  Perform other duties as required.  Must read, understand, and adhere to all Physician Services policies and procedures.  Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement. 

EDUCATION:  Graduate of accredited school of Nuclear Medicine. 

EXPERIENCE:  Experience in Nuclear Medicine (may include experience in formal NM formal training program)  Prefer three years’ experience in nuclear medicine department.
