Job Summary and Qualifications

General Statement of Duties:

The Regulatory Compliance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all regulatory programs within the department. The main responsibilities for this position include collection and retaining of data records regarding testing, inspection and maintenance of all affiliated programs. The position would also include analyzing and applying process improvements to these programs and ensuring that all programs are tailored to the current or adopted codes in which the inspecting agencies are using to evaluate facilities. The Regulatory Compliance Supervisor will also oversee and coordinate the efforts of service vendors in order to achieve compliance of repairs associated with discrepancies found during inspections.

Essential Job Functions:

· Interprets and comprehends applicable codes, rules, and regulations as they relate to Hospital and MedicalOffice Building systems. Performs adjustments, and operational verification, of all records to ensureeffectiveness and integrity. Conducts evaluations and adjustments to all aspects of records for life safetysystems, the fire prevention plan, and the utility management plan. Conducts in depth, ongoing training toFacilities Management personnel in the proper methods and documentation of preventive maintenance andrepair tasks by code standards as well as all safety practices that apply.

· Evaluates the overall effectiveness of the programs and modifies as needed to ensure optimal recordkeeping, and effectiveness of the programs. Demonstrate desired outcomes, routinely and continually monitorand enhance operational characteristics.

· Maintains a working knowledge of all systems related to the operational characteristics required in ahealthcare environment. Cognizant and recognize the urgency of maintaining current technology,applications, and information as relates to the healthcare environment.

· Ensures continued analysis of all life safety systems and associated equipment. Must assist, as needed orrequested, in the diagnosis of equipment failures and restoration. Possess and utilize teaching techniques toelevate the overall knowledge of coworkers understanding of life safety systems.

· Monitor operations data presented by reporting terminals, operation panels, vendors, and employee/staffregarding system operation and condition. Ensures recorded data is in log books or computer files and make suitable operational changes as shown by this data and operation of all life safety systems in normal/emergency mode. Is alert to emergency operations needs and ready to react to these needs in such a manner that delivery of life safety services are always as near normal as possible.

· Consults with outside service companies on existing systems and new installation contractors to ensure that life safety schemes/systems are maintained/installed to conform to standards set by the Hospital and Regulatory agencies. Understands and participates in review of new design and commissioning of all new expansions to our life safety systems to ensure designed operational performance

Minimum Education and Experience:

· High school graduate or GED equivalency.

    · Extensive training and experience: 6-8 years’ experience in a healthcare environment, with a minimum of two years supervision or business ownership experience.

    This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

    Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital has been nationally recognized for its record setting kidney, liver and pancreas transplant programs. The hospital is home to the Texas Transplant Institute. We are the largest living donor kidney transplant program in the US. In 2019 the center reached a major milestone by performing 231 living donor kidney transplants in a single year. This set a new national record, 65 more transplants than the second center on the list. This is acknowledged in the United Network of Organ Sharing database.
