Job Summary and Qualifications

General Statement of Duties:

The Electrician Advanced must maintain & operate the entire hospital electrical distribution system in an uninterrupted manner that includes the emergency generators and all branch circuits from the incoming medium voltage line to the actual end of the distribution. Must be able to replace/repair and connect circuits to existing equipment appliances or distribution panels moved or extended because of failures or construction. Responsible for maintenance, repair and service for all hospital owned electric motors, switches, starters, controllers and all other related electrical gear and switchgear of all medium voltages. The Electrician Advanced is responsible for the proper operation and documentation of all electrical equipment in the hospital and on the grounds. This includes the upkeep of all regulatory forms, lists, and logs in a timely manner.

Essential Job Functions:

· Replace or repair conduit, wires, switch boxes, controllers, lights and all other electrical components as needed to repair services in existing structures.

· Perform maintenance checks and testing of all features of the life support equipment such as emergency generators, pump & fan motors, boiler controls, electrical distribution panels, relays and breakers

· Maintain all incoming feeders, distribution breakers, transformers and switchgear.

· Establishes relationships with others to develop a network and mentoring opportunities. Also develops relationships with other departments.

· Demonstrates an expert level knowledge of electrical maintenance practices and expert level skills in common tools and equipment.

· Operates and maintains all electrical equipment including building electrical monitoring equipment at an expert level.

· Documentation of regulatory requirements e.g. The Joint Commission, Texas Department of Health and Human Services, etc.

 

What qualifications you will need:

Education: High school diploma or GED from an accredited program.

Experience:

· Minimum of 7 years of experience in a related job.

· Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable)

    · Preferred: One year technical school or equivalent preferred. Associate’s Degree or 2 years of technical school is desirable from an accredited program. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

    This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
