SHIFT: Days (rotating weekends)
SCHEDULE: Full-time


Performs duties of Marketing Director to promote the Hospital System to the public. Performs research and proposal writing for grant applications to funding sources, including federal, state and private or corporate foundations. Responsible for project development with other Hospital departments, to include preparation of a reasonable and accurate budget for grant-funded programs. Keeps Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer informed of financial compliance prior to submission of grant applications.

Marketing and Outreach Director:

-Serves as the point of contact for all marketing activities involving the Hospital. Coordinates all Marketing activities involving elected and county officials, media and other public organizations for special promotions of new programs, services or events in the Hospital’s service area.


-Promotes and develops flyers, mailouts and/or advertisements for distribution to the public on new or existing hospital programs and services.

-Coordinates receptions, conferences, health fairs or other events to promote the Hospital and represent the organization in a positive manner to the public.

Proposal Development:

-Relies on various sources, including the Internet, non-profit publications, and state and federal grant alerts to determine possible funding sources for the organization.


-Works closely with the CEO, CFO and department managers to select projects for grant proposals and amount of funding needed for project.


-Assures that a project can comply with all requirements, including accounting and reporting requirements, quality assurance, and matching funds (if required) before submission of the application. If matching funds are required, approval to commit funds is obtained from the CEO, CFO and/or Board of Directors prior to submission of the grant proposal. Communicates requirements to all parties involved so that the project/program is in compliance and is completed as scheduled.


-Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects, such as preparation of records of expenditures and findings, progress reports, and staff conferences, in order to inform management of current status of each project.


-Assist with fundraising activities, planning, marketing and advertising for hospital and clinic special events.

-Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, some college, including English and or persuasive writing courses required. Effective and persuasive written and oral communication skills, strong research and information retrieval skills, excellent organizational and administrative skills required. Must be able to represent the organization to the public. Must have computer experience, including word processing and use of the internet as a research tool. Training in grant proposal writing and budget preparation preferred.
