Job Summary and Qualifications
Essential Job Functions:
1. Follows and maintains Staffing and Scheduling policies and processes to ensure adequate staffing throughout facilities. Communicates effectively with all parties involved in the staffing process, including but not limited to Senior Leaders, Patient Placement, Nurse Directors, Charge Nurses, Resource Pool and Contingency Staff. Receives calls from supplement staffing pool nurses and schedules them for shifts. Reviews OneStaff schedules to assess coverage for the upcoming shift. Prepares shift-staffing sheet for the next shift to show coverage and census. Verifies pre-books with unit schedule for the following shift. Maintains current Supplement Staffing Pool schedule. Communicates assignments to Resource Team and Contingency staff.
2. Greets visitors, callers, answers inquiries, and directs them to the appropriate person based on their needs. Communicates in a professional manner and communicates messages appropriately.
3. Documents and Relays sick/absent calls to appropriate personnel, including the nursing unit and the Nurse Administrator.
4. Coordinates sitter case coverage and adheres to individual facility sitter criteria. Assists with family members to obtain private duty sitters through agency usage
5. Maintains competency related to One Staff scheduling process, Tele-Tracking (Projected Census), and StaffRx (orders and confirmations) and is able to run reports and make edits as needed.
6. Supports the Nurse Administrator as necessary.

4. Adheres to the MHS Code of Conduct and Methodist Excellence Standards. Demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients, colleagues and the community. Understands the personal obligation to report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules regulations or the Code of Conduct itself.
5. Completes other duties as assigned.
