Job Summary and Qualifications
Seeking a Manager of Emergency Preparedness for Methodist Hospital - Metropolitan who will serve as an advocate/liaison of the hospital with local, regional, and state EMS agencies. Develop and implement a business plan, driving service line growth, and improving quality and processes. This position is responsible for collaboration across all care settings within the facility as it relates to EMS and disaster preparedness. Clinical experience and extended hours including, evenings and weekends are required. What You Will Do In Your Role:
- Serves as an advocate of the health system and maintains a strong, positive relationship between the hospital and area EMS providers. Responsible for EMS Satisfaction and implementing process improvement where indicated. Responsible for EMS feedback and EMS lounge at facility.
- Align with MHS Service Line leaders and Physician Provider Relations promoting capabilities of the hospital to EMS providers. Responsible for tracking and trending EMS volume per month.
- Establishes and maintains processes to quickly and safely receive patients from EMS agencies, allowing short turn-around times for EMS crews (in compliance with MHS and STRAC matrices). Responsible for EMS Offload metrics.
- Develop and grow hospital/EMS collaboration projects and business opportunities. Responsible for education of regional and facility processes.
- Ensure service line quality (processes, services, and metrics) and align to facility/division and national standard and best practice. Market level intelligence as it relates to EMS in with competitors and community.
- Assist with disaster preparedness as it relates to EMS relations and EMS support during event and/or drills.
- May require additional evening and overnight hours.
What qualifications you will need:
- High School Graduate/Equivalent
- 5 years EMS supervisory experience.
- Must have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, team facilitation and project management.
- Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree; 7 years EMS supervisory experience
Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:
- Required: Certified Paramedic (National Registry and/or local), BCLS
- Preferred: BCLS/ACLS/PALS Instructor, PHTLS or BTLS instructor
