Job Summary and Qualifications
Seeking a Nurse Manager for the Cardiac Cath Lab/EP at Methodist Hospital- Texsan who provides co-leadership and co-responsibility for the functions of assigned clinical patient care/procedural units to include Cardiac Cath and Electrophysiology Labs. Ensures proper inventory supplies, scheduling of personnel, maintaining high standards of quality, customer service, staff development, and is an effective physician liaison. In the absence of the Director of Cardiac Cath Electrophysiology Labs, the Manager makes departmental decisions in collaboration with the VP of Cardiology or CNO. What you will do in this role:
- Responsible to interact with patients, physicians, physician’s offices, and other system or facility departments over the phone or in person in an effective and professional manner. In the absence of the Director of Cardiac Cath/Electrophysiology Labs is responsible for all unit operations. Demonstrates successful conflict resolution in a timely manner with patients, families, physicians, and all members of the healthcare team.
- Maintains clinical competence (typically spends 50% of time staffing and 50% in administrative functions)
- Manages personnel to include interviewing, work allocation, problem resolution, performance evaluation, making recommendations for personnel actions, and motivating employees to achieve peak performance. Is responsible for assigned employee’s output and conduct.
- Supports processes that ensure unit meets yearly budget. Assists the Director in evaluating and projecting productivity, maintaining payroll, and ensuring compliance with Supply Chain operations.
- Maintains all patient reports and records. This includes but is not limited to the following:
- pulling all previous reports/images, presenting reports/images to the correct reading physician, and entering proper patient charges into Meditech.
- Assists the Director as assigned to maintain and implement training programs, maintain personnel and departmental files, education compliance, and compliance with all regulatory bodies.
What qualifications you will need:
- Education and Experience: ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Two years management experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or related area
- Associates Degree in Nursing or higher Nursing degree.
Note: * RNs hired as of 01/01/2013 that do not have a BSN upon hire must do
ALL of the following:
- Enroll in a BSN or higher degree nursing program within two years of hire date and submit documentation to facility CNO (or designated representative).
- Complete the BSN or higher degree nursing program within five years of hire date.
- Preferred: BSN on hire.
Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:
- License to practice professional registered nursing in the state of Texas.
