Job Summary and Qualifications

    As a Phlebotomist I you are responsible for collection of blood samples by venipuncture or microtechnique. You are responsible for transportation of laboratory specimens; receiving and processing specimens and performing work within compliance of laboratory policies and procedures. As a Phlebotomist I you will also participate in continuing education activities; and other duties as assigned.

    What you will do In This Role:

    · As a Phlebotomist I you will perform bleeding times, venipuncture and fingerstick specimen collection on neonate, infant, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

    · You will observe standards for dual patient identification; collection is timely ensure patients experience minimal discomfort.

    · You will interact directly with patients to obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures, allay fears, and elicit cooperation.

    ·You will follow policies and procedures associated with the collection of blood specimens in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

    ·You will communicate and interact with patients, physicians, co-workers, vendors and the public in a professional and pleasant manner.

    · You will record information consistently and accurately on phlebotomy and nursing sign-off sheets.

    ·You will clean work area, phlebotomy trays and restocks supplies.

    What Qualifications You Will Need:

    ·Adult phlebotomy experience preferred.

    • High School Graduate / GED
