Job Summary and Qualifications
Seeking a Transplant Supervisor who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clinic and direction of staff and activities related to the technical operation of the clinic which include overseeing the job functions of the other transplant coordinators, medical and transplant assistants, and secretaries.
What you will do in this role:
1. Ensures the clinic runs effectively and efficiently for every person involved, including but not limited to physicians, patients, and staff with a main focus on patient throughput and resource utilization. Responsible for responding, handling, and documenting complaints that arise in regards to clinic operations.
2. Participates in continuing education activities, group practice, clinical department, and hospital-wide programs affecting the delivery of care practices, and encourages participation in practice activities including staff participation in all fire safety, infection control and other mandatory training.
3. Ensures efficient workflow in the section by getting patients started on time and keeping room turnaround time to a minimum. Organizes work in such a way that the structure responds quickly to changes in workload.
4. Responsible for developing jointly with the Clinical Director and primarily overseeing a QA plan for the clinic. Participates in the planning and organizing patient care conferences in conjunction with physician chair.
5. Serves as content expert for policies and procedures effecting clinic operations and is responsible for reviewing and revising these policies and procedures; holds staff accountable for following policies and procedures
6. Responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels in the clinic for all positions, including personally taking a clinical caseload when necessary.
What qualifications you will need:
Minimum Education and Experience:
1. Graduate of a professional nursing program required.
2. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred.
3. Minimum two years of transplant coordinator experience; Should have management experience with demonstrated effectiveness (preferably in a transplant-related area)
Minimum License and Certificates Required:
Current licensed to practice as a Registered RN in the state of Texas.

The hospital is home to the Texas Transplant Institute. We are the largest living donor kidney transplant program in the US.
