Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Diet Clerk you will prepare dietary information for use by kitchen personnel in preparation of foods for hospital patients.
What you will do in this role:
- As a Diet Clerk you will examine diet orders and menus received from hospital units and prepare tallies of specific foods to be prepared in the kitchen.
- You will process new diets and changes as required. Generate and edit tray tickets, assemble tray ticket packets, and enters data into computer.
- As a Diet Clerk you will modify diets following standards established by Dietitian.
- You will answer telephone calls and relay information concerning meal changes, complaints, or patient discharge to Supervisor or Dietitian.
- You will prepare and deliver formulas and special nourishments to unit pantries.
- You will work trayline/tray accuracy as required for timely and accurate patient service.
What qualifications you will need:
- High School diploma or equivalent, supplemented by course work in nutrition.
- 2 years of experience in food service operations.
- Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
- Computer experience preferred.
- Food Handlers permit or must obtain during the first two weeks of hire date.
