Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Dietitian - Food and Nutrition in Burn Services you will responsible for planning, organizing, and evaluating all phases of nutritional care for inpatients and outpatients of all ages, from Pediatric to Geriatric, specializing in the care of patients followed by the Burns and Wound Services team. As a Dietitian - Food and Nutrition in Burn Services you will maintain high standards of nutritional care and coordinate the nutritional care with all caregivers.
What you will do in this role:
- As a Dietitian - Food and Nutrition you will perform nutritional assessment, evaluations and planning; calculate and record meal patterns.
- You will maintain nutritional care plans, review medical records, correlate medical care to nutritional care, chart findings and attend care plan meetings.
- You will interpret and implement the diet prescription; calculate nutrients and prepare individual meal plans.
- You will attend and report nutritional status of patients at daily multidisciplinary rounds for burn and wound services starting early mornings as early as 6:30am.
- You will attend weekly multidisciplinary rounding call for burn and wound services every Wednesday or scheduled day.
- You will create individualized patient menus for patients with specific nutrition requirement who are being followed by Burn and Wound Services and ensures compliance.
- You will provide recommendations on enteral and parenteral nutrition and obtain average daily volume intake.
- You will communicate and work directly with the Medical Director of Burn and affiliated team members to continue enhancing services for patients.
- You will provide nutrition care for other patient populations per department needs.
What qualifications you will need:
- You must have a Bachelor Degree in Food and Nutrition or related field
- You must have at least two years of related experience
- Critical Care experience preferred
- Pediatric population experience preferred
- Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) preferred
- You must be licensed by the State of Texas
- You must be Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
