Seeking a Nursing Support Multi-skilled Patient Care Technician/Unit Clerk to join our team to perform a variety of delegated tasks under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN) in a complementary and assistive role through functioning in a combination of two or more of the following positions: Patient Care Assistant, Unit Clerk and/or Cardiac Monitor Tech.  He/she assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance to the individual’s training, competence and skill, hospital policies and procedures and the Texas Board of Nursing rules for delegated nursing tasks to unlicensed personnel (Rule 224.6). Consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well organized, adequately stocked and safe patient environment. 

 
What you will do in this role:
 
  • Under the supervision of the RN, performs delegated activities as directed and ordered in accordance with one’s training, competence and skill and with Hospital policies, procedures and Methodist Excellence.

  • Signs all applicable job descriptions of positions performed and consistently fulfills the essential job functions of those positions.

  • Maintains training, competence and skill for all applicable nursing support positions performed.

  • Is consistently flexible to perform in the roles needed by the department/facility

Qualifications:

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • High school graduate or equivalent education


LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • PCA & Unit Secretary/ PCA & Cardiac Monitor Tech/ PCA & Unit Secretary & Cardiac Monitor Tech:

  • Certified Nurse’s Aide and/or Emergency Medical Technician certification (preferred)


EXPERIENCE: 

  • Patient Care Assistant, Unit Secretary, and/or Cardiac Monitor Tech experience (preferred)
