Your Role:
  • The Vice President reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and shares administrative authority and responsibility for the practice of nursing and supports the mission, vision and values of MHS. 
  • This position is responsible for aligning multiple clinical departments within hospital in a common mission while fostering interdepartmental collaboration in the development of high quality, cost effective and integrated programs across the full continuum of care. 
  • Areas of responsibility include: productivity, regulatory compliance, assistance with performance improvement and service excellence initiatives and managerial staff development.

Qualifications

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics: 

Education: All of the following: 
1) Masters Degree in Nursing or related field 
2) Bachelor of Science in Nursing 

Note: Current MHS employees in the VP of Nursing position have until 1/1/2014 to meet education requirements 

Experience
  • Five years of progressive healthcare/hospital management experience required. 
Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable). 

Vice President level experience Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required: 
  • Must have current RN license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas. 
  • Must have Texas RN license within 90 days of hire
