We are seeking a Director of Behavioral Therapy Services for Methodist Hospital – Specialty & Transplant.  The Director of the Behavioral Therapy Services is responsible for a 74 bed inpatient unit which includes PHP & IOP.  The Director is also responsible for planning, directing or coordinating of patient care services in behavioral health units and activities designed to increase patient census and control cost in these areas. The Director assures that services are provided in accordance with standards and regulations set forth by Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Medicare, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). What You Will Do In Your Role:

  • Plans, implements, evaluates, coordinates, and directs therapeutic programming and treatment planning for behavioral health service line on a 24 hour basis in accordance with recognized and accepted internal (e.g. unit, department, and hospital) and external (e.g. TJC, Medicare, OSHA) standards in order to facilitate optimum care and health education for patients, and appropriate utilization of resources.
  • Administers fiscal operations, monitoring financial performance, authorizing expenditures and coordinating financial reporting.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures, and assures understanding and compliance by personnel. Interprets policies and procedures to physicians, patients and visitors.
  • Prepares reports to inform management of progress, needs or problems associated with provided services
  • Consults with other department heads, physicians, community groups to promote MHS behavioral health services, and to see that provided services are responsive to the needs of patients, physicians and community.

Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:

 

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with psychiatric specialization or a Master’s Degree in a clinical specialty related to behavioral health.

 

5 years of clinical experience (in any combination), in private practice, community based treatment, and/or hospital based treatment, and a minimum of three years in increasingly responsible behavioral health operations management experience

 

Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:

Currently licensed in the State of Texas as a Qualified Mental Health Provider: A Licensed Master of Social Work(LMSW), Licensed Master of Social Work-Advanced Clinical Practitioner (LMSW-ACP) preferred, or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). May have a Registered Nurse (RN) license in addition to those listed.
