What You Will Do In This Role:
The Plant Operator Advanced is a highly motivated and experienced individual. As part of the Facilities team, will oversee a wide variety of daily plant operations, personally controlling HVAC equipment and plant equipment via a centralized control unit or direct controls. In addition to ensuring smooth operation will also schedule maintenance for equipment and perform repairs on related plant equipment as needed. This position requires considerable professional experience within a healthcare and/or manufacturing type environment, and the ideal candidate also possesses strong computer proficiency, mechanical skills, team building skills and strong problem-solving abilities. The Plant Operator Advanced will also take calls on the patient floors and in rooms, so advanced customer service and follow up communication a must. Qualified candidate would possess water and/or chemical testing knowledge and background in relation to domestic water, well water and cooling towers.
Essential Job Functions:
Replace or repair valves, wires, pumps, motors, thermostats and all other plant components as needed to repair services in existing structures.
Perform preventive maintenance checks and testing of all features of the life support equipment such as medical vacuum pumps, distribution pumps & exhaust fan motors, boiler controls, medical air compressors, control relays and breakers
Perform documented rounds of all critical building infrastructure such as chillers, air handlers, boilers, heating and cooling water systems and related pumps, DI water systems, well pump operation and related documentation and water and/or chemical testing.
Establishes relationships with others to develop a network and mentoring opportunities. Also develops relationships with other departments.
Demonstrates an expert level knowledge of plant operation practices and expert level skills in common tools and equipment.
Operates and maintains all plant equipment including building controls equipment at an expert level.
Display advanced verbal and written communication skills, advanced computer skills and related software for building controls and PM/work order system
Documentation of regulatory requirements e.g. The Joint Commission, Texas Department of Health and Human Services, etc. and maintain required logs and documentation for inspections
