We are seeking a Program Manager of Lung Transplant for Methodist Hospital.  The Manager, Lung Transplant and Advance Lung Failure Programs are responsible for overseeing programmatic and clinical operations for the Advance Lung Failure and Lung Transplant Programs.  Executes sound clinical business strategy that promotes service, relationships, and volume. Responsible for meeting internal procedural requirements as set forth by each organ-specific transplant steering committee as well as meeting external requirements regarding Transplant Services as defined by UNOS, TJC, Medicare, and Medicaid in each respective area. In this leadership role the Manager assures smooth business operations, promotes collaboration among all members of the interdisciplinary team, facilitates patient care delivery and timeliness of service, role models and promotes excellent customer service, prevents and/or resolves conflict and, overall, provides for an optimal patient care and work environment. Works closely with the Transplant Administrative Director and Transplant Medical/Surgical Directors to ensure high quality services are provided by each of the programs.We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. What you will do in your role:

  • Responsible for programmatic growth and development of programs, including program accreditation, referral and access processes, policy and procedure development, quality and outcome assessment, and clinic operations. Examples include charging processes, maintaining and reporting appropriate statistical data, and appropriate Quality Review to be integrated into the overall transplant programs Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Plan (QAPI).

  • Provides leadership and oversight for transplant and advanced lung failure programs and clinic.

  • In close collaboration with the Transplant Quality and Compliance Manager, develops adequate QA/PI plans for each respective area and holds staff accountable for ensuring that plans, goals, and targets are achieved; serves as a content expert on policies and procedures where appropriatstaff, ensuring the proper tools, resources, equipment and environment to carry out their responsibilities, including operating within compliance of TJC, Medicare, Medicaid and UNOS regulations.

  • Responsible for direct oversight for program and clinic staff, including competency assessment and maintenance, staff education and training programs, time/attendance, appropriate staffing and productivity benchmarking, and setting behavioral expectations.

  • Works in close collaboration with transplant administrative leadership, transplant physicians, outreach coordinators, and business development staff to maintain and improve all referral source relationships and operations.

  • Responsible for growing transplant revenue and profitability by growing clinic and wait list volumes and spin-off activity.

  • Responsible for developing and overseeing an adequate recruitment, training, education, and competency program for staff. Conducts monthly staff meetings and daily rounding.

  • Demonstrates successful conflict resolution in a timely manner with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare team members.

  • Achieves and maintains high standards of patient and referring physician satisfaction in regards to each clinical program and responds accordingly when complaints arise.

  • Works effectively with each program Medical and Surgical Director, ensuring strong lines of communication and follow-up, and jointly addressing and resolving issues proactively as they are identified.

  • Promotes Multidisciplinary approach and collaboration amongst clinical services.


What qualifications you will need

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.  Degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or General Business.
  • Minimum two years experience in management/administration.
