Seeking an Occupational /Employee Health Manager to join our team. The Occupational Health and Safety Program Manager coordinates Employee Health services to achieve optimal, quality, cost-effective care with the goal of safely returning the employee to work or an optimal alternative. Advises Employee Health Nurses treatment plans at the facilities. Supervises Employee Health RNs and EH Assistant. Promotes personal and occupational health for Methodist Healthcare System employees. Coordinates treatment for on-the-job injuries and illnesses within established policies. Works closely with all department managers/directors, Infection Control, Emergency Department, Safety department, Employee Assistance Program, Laboratory Services, Human Resources, San Antonio Health Department, and supporting physicians.
 
What you will do in this role:
  • Assesses and treats, or secures treatment for employees injured on-the-job according to Employee Health and Safety Benefit Plan procedures. 
  • Recognizes impending crisis situations and institutes measures (such as adjusting priorities) to prevent further complications. 
  • Evaluates minor employee illnesses and non-work related injuries in accordance with system policies and procedures. 
  • Provides screenings, referrals, and information related to Methodist Healthcare System Employee Health Benefits, to include the Employee Health and Safety program. 
  • Floats between the Employee Health clinic and SWTMH and MSTH. Assures that system policies are practiced throughout the Employee Health clinics. 
  • Monitors hospital departments for non-job-related illnesses and absences in order to detect trends and avoid exposures to communicable diseases. 

Qualifications

Education:  
  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing from an accredited program.
Experience: ALL of the following:
  • Minimum of three years employee health experience.
  • One year of supervisory management experience.
  • Preferred: Minimum of five years of hospital employee health or case management experience.
  • Preferred: Two years of supervisory management experience.
License/Certification: 
  • Current RN license as provided by the Texas State Board of Registered Nurses with no stipulations.
