Seeking a PRN Pediatric Psychologist to join our team at Methodist Children's Hospital who will provide psychological assessment, diagnosis and individual and group therapy, case management services, referral, and follow-up to pediatric patients and their families/caregivers under the clinical management of the Methodist Children’s Hospital hematology, oncology and bone marrow transplant service.
 
What you will do in this role:
  • Provides psychological consultations, evaluations, and individual/family/group psychotherapy for chronically-ill pediatric patients and their families.
  • Selects appropriate treatment approach and plans frequency, intensity, and duration of individual care. Provides crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment.
  • Assesses patient progress and modifies treatment programs accordingly; communicates with and counsels family members as appropriate.
  • Documents therapy in accordance with policies and procedures regarding medical records; implements and adheres to policies which ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Supervise practicum students, initiate research projects, and develop special programs related to psychology and the populations being served.
  • Ability to administer and evaluate neuropsychological assessment/testing for creation of comprehensive plan of patient care.

Qualifications

Education: 
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
Experience: 
  • Minimum 1 year post-doctoral working experience in a medical facility, children’s medical preferred. Also, experience in cognitive assessment is preferred.
License:
  • Licensed or license eligible to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of Texas
