Scope for Cardiovascular Telemetry Services:
Primary admitting diagnosis is “cardiac”: New onset CHF, CHF exacerbation, AFIB RVR, New Onset arrhythmias, Chest pain, Angina, PPM placement, PPM firing, PCI, STEMI, NSTEMI, Hemodynamically stable pericardial effusions. Goal of unit is to have all Heart Failure, and PCI patients targeted to CVTS to provide consistent patient care and improve outcomes with consistent process implementation.
Drips: (All cardiac drips must be ordered at set rate): Amiodarone protocol, Bumex, Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Angiomax, Nitro, Cardene, Dobutamine. Patients must not have labile blood pressures while on cardiac drips. Should patient require titration of drips, level of care will be escalated appropriately.
CVTS Competencies: Chest tubes, Post PCI recovery, TR-Bands, heart failure, AF RVR, permanent PPM (transvenous pacing patients require PCU/ICU), NIHSS for CVA
In addition, we will be recovering transradial cath patients
