The Cardiovascular (CV) Clinical Trainer is responsible for assisting the Cardiology staff in the optimal use of computer system applications and related systems in order to increase staff efficiency and effectiveness in Cardiology Services. Duties include coordinating integration of Cardiology systems with internal and external systems, as well as a liaison to other hospital departments including, but not limited to Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, Admitting, Infection Control, Risk Management, Information Technology Group (ITG), and Health Information Management (HIM).Responsible for planning, coordinating, installation, upgrades, updates and education of system applications. Responsible for ensuring data integrity through periodic audits and reviewing/revising policies/procedures in the use of supplied system software. Performs any other job related duties as requested by the Supervisor or Department Director.
1.Education: Associate degree in health, science, natural science, nursing, engineering or any primary science or higher OR Graduate of an accredited (by GHEA, USDOE, or CMA) program in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology.
2.Experience: 2 years’ experience in Invasive Cardiovascular Technology and 2 years’ clinical application support/experience implementing or managing cardiology information systems.
3.Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service
line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population
served (if applicable).
4.Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:
b.Must have ONE of the following:
i.RCIS (Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialist) from CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)
ii.RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) from CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)
iii.ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist)
Essential Job Functions:
1.In coordination with Division Cardiovascular Administrators maintain test and production Cardiovascular Information Systems (CVIS) to include, but not limited to database data, cardiovascular reporting system, modalities, invasive hemodynamic system, reporting platforms.
2.Collaborate with clinical educators, clinicians and Information Technology Group (ITG) to create and/or update teaching materials for department employees and physicians.
3.Function as a super user for cardiovascular information systems in the following capacities:Train new department employees and providers on the use of Centricity Cardio Workflow (CCW), MacLab and other cardiovascular information systems, train facility centric super users on cardiovascular information systems, facilitate the communication of changes, enhancements and issues to all Department staff and management and act as first point of contact for technical questions from Department staff and providers.
4.Develop and maintain workflow, competencies, and procedures, including optimization of clinical and technical workflows within the Cardiology Department.
5.In coordination with ITG, support and/or lead efforts to troubleshoot system integration issues, to include but not limited to: NMI rejection reports, Meditech integration issues – charges, ADT, inventory and reports, Patient Accounting charges (charge reconciliation), eClinicalWorks (eCW) reports and PatientKeeper reports and charges.
6.Work with ITG staff to coordinate the installation of systems in new or reorganized areas of department.Assists ITG in the coordination of hardware issues and troubleshooting for cardiovascular information systems.
7.Creates department reports to provide statistics/data for Administration, QI/QM, Finance, Cardiovascular Service, Special Projects; and produces cost reports and revenue reports for end-of-month reporting (PLUS)
8.Acts as a Liaison with supply chain for supply maintenance in the various systems.
