We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst for Methodist Hospital.  This position will work with the Application Development team and serve as a primary IT contact with our business partners. This includes recognized business knowledge in analyzing and collaborating on new business opportunities and information technology solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.  Works with other key project team members to define requirements, design the functional solution, identify and resolve project issues, and ensure the IT solutions meet the business needs and requirements.

What You Will Do In Your Role:
  • Guide the Application Development team during the build of applications with their understanding and interpretation of clinical processes to ensure accurate focus on key clinical aspects of clinical need and adoption.
  • Collaborates with the Division Application Development team regarding the design, build, and implementation of custom developed applications.
  • Uses clinical expertise to search for and identify key data elements within Meditech and the Enterprise Data Warehouse required to meet objectives necessary for successful creation of applications.
  • Maintain a clear and current understanding of the architecture of Meditech screens, queries, interventions, and NPR data to ensure accurate applicable data in the applications developed for and used by clinicians.
  • Coordinates division-wide testing for applications developed by the team to ensure successful adoption and understanding of the applications and their value for the various teams across the division.
  • Maintain an awareness of current or near-future application development efforts of other teams across the enterprise to reduce duplication of effort across teams.
  • Strong, experience based, Clinical and HIT skills with the ability to analyze issues, assess risks, and develop written recommendations.
  • Envisions and takes action to mitigate potentials risks associated with custom developed applications.
  • Serve as a clinical liaison to clinicians at the department and facility level to ensure an accurate understanding of clinical challenges during beta testing, roll out, and production use of applications built by the Division Application Development team.
  • Collaborates with the Application Services team, Clinical Analytics team, and other ancillary teams in identifying, outlining, and integration of key data elements in projects involving the Application Development team.


  • Demonstrated basic understanding of programming logic and various programming platforms
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and extract key data elements used in designing application.
  • Demonstrated advanced skill with building Meditech screens, interventions, and queries
  • Experience with integrating clinical and IT processes
  • Understanding of reporting tools functionality and capabilities
  • Mature understanding of clinical operations and clinical application support processes and workflow
  • Understands pertinent accreditation guidelines, such as JCAHO, MQSA, HIPAA, and ACR
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong relationships across a broad range of personality types
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clinical and information technology personnel verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated customer orientation
  • Excellent leadership and teaching abilities
  • Must be able to drive to assigned sites to complete work
  • Proficiency in various programming and clinical application reporting tools preferred.
  • Customer service orientation and/or training preferred.
