Seeking a Data Management Specialist responsible for collecting, entering, verifying all stem cell transplant information into the federal mandated reporting system and the additional data elements required as part of the BMT participation as an research program.

What you will do in this role:

  • Tracks and enrolls stem cell transplant patients into the federally mandated reporting system and federal research database in a timely manner. Manages the collection of data and extrapolates healthcare information for entry into the electronic capture system.
  • Timely and accurately collects all transplant information and follow up information from the patient and the patient’s providers to maintain an accurate database of transplant information and additional research data points as a participating research center. Maintains tracking tools and updates to physicians and committees as assigned
  • Facilitates requests for information on the transplant population for third party payors and independent requests for information generated as a result of the hospital participation in the research arm of the central reporting system
  • Provides all patient follow up and statistics as requested by the program and participates in the FACT accreditation process by providing medical records and documentation of the patient transplant process
  • Ability to work independently and analyze the patient information and treatment pathway with the ability to interpret medical terminology in oncology and enter accurately into the CIBMTR database.
  • Composes correspondence with the CIBMTR, physicians, committees and prepares reports as requested. Completes queries timely and accurately.



  • High School Graduate; Bachelor’s Degree preferred


  • Minimum 2 years Oncology and/or Stem Cell Transplantation, preferred
