Your Role:

The EVS Floor Tech position is responsible for the general appearance of resilient floor and carpeted surfaces in corridors, patient rooms, public areas, offices, treatment rooms and any other areas deemed necessary by the Supervisor.  Performs the major cleaning and refinishing in assigned area in accordance with standard departmental procedures and hospital objective at the Medical Facilities.

 
Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for Hospital floor Care by Striping, buffing, and waxing floors using industrial equipment and keeping inventory of floor areas to prioritize cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods.
  • Follows procedures established for area cleaning, chemical usage, safety and maintenance of work carts/work tool as well as ensures chemicals are measured and labeled correctly.
  • Vacuums all carpeted corridors and lobbies, cleans lights and vents when requested, washes walls, ducts, and buffs, strips and refinishes floors.
  • Follows departmental procedures when handling biohazardous waste, ensuring that all red bags are tied off and/or taped as per Infection Control policies and procedures.
  • Dust mops and damp/wet mop hard floor surfaces and stairwells as scheduled.

  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

  • Must read, speak and understand the English Language. 

  • One year of housekeeping experience in the Hospital/medical setting preferred
