Your Role:
The Environmental Services Associate is responsible for the general cleanliness of the following areas at the Medical Facilities: patient care areas, Administrative areas, ancillary support areas, rest rooms, and all other areas requiring Environmental Services support. The routine work of this employee, depending upon area of assignment, consists of sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, wiping, surface cleaning all floors, walls, ceilings, sinks, mirrors, showers, commodes, windows, and other glass areas, rooms for the next patient. Moving of furniture and other heavy equipment is accomplished as directed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas using prescribed methods.
- Prepares the ES carts for assigned area.
- Spot cleans, dusts, polishes, mops floors, cleans fixtures, showers, commodes, and miscellaneous cleaning in assigned areas including rooms for incoming patients.
- Removes soiled linens and changes beds with clean linens.
- Assists in cleaning of emergency spills observed or upon request.
- Applies proper infection control practices and isolation techniques.
Qualifications:
- Must read, speak, and understand the English Language.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
EXPERIENCE:
- Prior cleaning experience in an institution is desired, but not mandatory.
