In this role, you will be asked to provide the following services:
• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy administration and management, including investigational protocols
• Transfusion of blood, platelets and fresh frozen plasma
• Management of patients with radiation implants, central venous access devices and spinal drains
• Provide care for patients that have undergone bone marrow biopsy and aspiration
• Thoracentesis and paracentesis
• Epidural and intrathecal analgesia
• Management of toxicities r/t chemotherapy/biotherapy/radiation therapy and neutropenia/ thrombocytopenia/ anemia
• Antibiotic/Medication therapies
• Pain Management and telemetry monitoring
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program
- Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
Oncology Unit Highlights:
• 28 bed unit
• Patient to Nurse ratio 3-4:1 (based on acuity)
• Cares for a variety of oncology patients to include those who have blood cancers, solid tumors, and other malignancies and hematology diagnoses
