We are seeking a Coordinator of the Administrative Nursing Department for Methodist Hospital – Specialty & Transplant.   The Coordinator, Administrative Nursing is responsible for direct and/or coordination of all non-therapeutic management activities, not related to direct nursing care on an assigned inpatient unit.  Responsible for equipment, supplies, patient charges, time and attendance tracking, and departmental capital equipment budget.  We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. What you will do in your role:
  • Monitors and tracks time and attendance for the department.  Routine scheduling of staff.  Collaborates with team members to make patient room assignments.
  • Procures supplies and equipment.
  • Develops and monitors operational and capital equipment budgets.
  • Assists nurse director with scheduling interviews of prospective new hires to include orientation of new hires.  Evaluate Unit Secretaries.
  • Monitors resource utilization reports and identify problem areas to address and offer suggestions for improvement.  Prepares statistical reports.
  • Coordinates activities with other departments related to environmental and equipment maintenance.
  • The job responsibilities of this position may include cross-training in other functions or positions to ensure satisfactory operation of the department/work unit or to permit flexible staffing assignments.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and customer service-centric environment and to perform duties and meet deadlines promptly.

What qualifications you will need
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited program.
  • Work experience in a health care setting and previous management experience is desirable.
  • Baccalaureate degree in management, business, or related field preferred.
