We are seeking Rehabilitation Nurses for Metropolitan Methodist Hospital to ensure we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care.

What You Will Do In Your Role:

  • You will consistently apply your Nursing assessments and nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients.
  • You will collaborate with the patient care team to provide medications with appropriate interventions and providing a plan for pain relief.
  • You will provide communication, confidence, and professionalism as evidenced by active engagement in unit and organizational activities
  • You will Encourage & Cheer you patients on to success.
  • You will reinforce OT/PT/ Speech strategies for independence.
  • You will demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, and serving as a resource to the patient care team.
  • You will have accountability for delivering quality nursing care services and for promoting a positive image of nursing
  • And Learn, Learn, Learn!

 

Methodist Rehab Unit Highlights

  • 24 beds
  • Patient to Nurse Ratio, 6:1
  •  Patient to PCT Ratio 12:1
  • Our Rehabilitation program offers comprehensive, individualized services for patients recovering from serious injuries or illness.  This includes but is not limited to stroke, neurological disorders, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputation, trauma injuries, and complex orthopedic cases. Our goal is to get our patients functioning independently so they can go home and live life!
  • We get to know our patients! Length of stay is usually 13-14 days. We enjoy making that connection with our patients and have plenty of opportunities to do so!
  • Jack of all trades - our patient population is so varied! We take care of post-heart transplants, LVAD patients, oncology patients, cardiac patients, dialysis patients, medical –surgical patients and even post-lung transplants!
  • Opportunities to use our skills - we develop skills in maintaining central lines, permacaths, PICCS, etc. We also perform I&O caths, place/remove
  • Team environment where we all work together to achieve our patients’ goals! Ongoing collaboration with occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy, attending physician, and Rehab physician.
  • We provide a positive, supportive, and nurturing environment where staff and patients thrive!

 

 

What qualifications you will need: 

  • Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
