This Surgical Unit is a 35 bed Unit that cares for a variety of pre and post-surgical patients to include.
Orthopedics (hips & knees)
Colorectal & rectal (all cases)
Gynecological
General (laparoscopic cholecystectomies, laparoscopic appendectomy, I&D, hernia repairs)
Bariatric (gastric sleeves)
Nurses have PCT support
This unit experiences low turnover due to the excellent teamwork, tenured staff, and physician support within the department.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree nursing program
Current RN License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
BSN preferred
Minimum of two years experience in healthcare
