Health benefits


Medical benefits are available to full-time and part-time employees. HCA Healthcare shares the cost of coverage for full-time employees. All medical plan options have coverage for office visits, preventive care, prescriptions (including free generic drugs for most plans), and inpatient and outpatient care. Many of the most common services require just a low copay and the deductible does not apply. Telemedicine services are also available for most plans.

Financial assistance with healthcare coverage is available through the Employee Health Assistance Fund (EHAF) for colleagues who meet eligibility criteria.

Behavioral health

Mental health benefits include coverage for counseling, psychotherapy, applied behavioral analysis, substance abuse treatment, inpatient and outpatient services and emergency services.

  • Get a financial wellness check-up with the myFitAge Tool, which shows the earliest age you can expect to retire, and Financial Finesse, which gives free access to certified financial planning professionals

Dental and vision

  • Dental: Available plans cover two free preventive visits per year and other basic and major dental care.

  • Vision: The plan provides a free annual exam plus benefits for lenses, frames and laser correction surgery, as well as the opportunity to save on replacement eyeglasses, sunglasses and other eye care items.

HCA 401(K) Plan

HCA Healthcare provides one of the most generous plans offered by any healthcare company or large employer.

  • Includes a 100% match on up to 9% of pay (based on your years of service)

Eligible colleagues can receive up to $5,250 in tax-free tuition reimbursement each calendar year for higher education courses (tuition, books and course-related fees) as well as free access to education counselors, financial advisors and discounts to more than 200 colleges and universities.

Clinical certifications support

Offers eligible employees pre-paid vouchers, test fee reimbursements and bonuses for achieving specific, nationally recognized certifications beyond your current position’s requirements.

Offers merit-based higher education scholarships of up to $5,000 for eligible dependents.

Time Away From Work

Paid Time Off

A bank of hours you can use to receive 100% of your base rate of pay when you take vacation or a sick day.

Paid Family Leave

Get 100% of your base rate of pay while taking up to 14 calendar days of family leave per year to bond with a new child or care for a family member with a serious health condition as defined by the Family & Medical Leave Act.

Short-Term Disability

Pays benefits to you if you are absent from work due to an illness, injury or pregnancy.

Long-Term Disability

Provides income protection if you become totally disabled and are unable to work for an extended period.

Leaves of Absence

Offers various types of leave, including Family & Medical Leave, educational, general medical, military training and active duty, personal- and state-required.

Life Insurance

Basic Life

Covers you at one times your base pay, and is provided to you by your facility

Supplemental Life

Allows you to choose an additional amount of coverage equal to one to eight times your base pay. The price you pay for this coverage depends on your age and salary
